TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
I am a first generation professors who does not remember a time without a computer. I relate to and understand how technological advanced students learn the digital tools in which they design with. I teach the students how to adapt to the technology that is in constant change and how they can learn the software and tools outside the classroom.
Design does not begin by turning on a switch of the machine, it begins at the concept, development, and thinking process of a project. After the conceptualization of the project has been completed the tools are introduced and explored.
In the classroom I am a guide and an art director of a research driven design firm. Students work in groups or alone on projects that are designed to evoke design theory and conceptual thinking.
I introduce new and innovative technology into the classroom to inspire my students to think how design and technology can influence life styles to promote new ways of communicating. I am fascinated with using new technologies to pursue a new way of educating students.
